When you’re putting a new roll of toilet paper in your restroom, should the paper hang in front of and over the roll or behind and under the roll? It’s a difficult question to answer and has been the subject of countless arguments!
If you’re on the “over” side of the debate, I’ve got good news. A writer named Owen Williams found a picture of the 1891 patent for perforated toilet paper and posted a picture of it on Twitter. This picture shows the roll with the paper going over the roll:
