Here’s a helpful cleaning tip. In break rooms and kitchens, occasionally clean the trash can and wipe down the wall behind the trash can. If you fail to do this, you could end up with bugs in your kitchen and sticky walls and trash cans.

Have you ever thrown a drink into a trash can and had the drink splatter along the wall? This is the type of thing that happens in a kitchen or a break room. These are messy rooms. People eat lunch in them. They store food in them. They throw parties in them.

The trash cans and walls are often the dirtiest parts of these rooms. They can get really gross. Most cleaners do a good job mopping the floor and cleaning the outside of the refrigerator, but they often fail to wipe down the trash cans and the surrounding walls. This is something that should not be overlooked.

These are some tips on how to get this done:

Pull the trash can away from the wall.

Spray down the wall and the trash can with a neutral cleaner. Let the cleaning solution sit for 30 seconds or so.

Warning: Make sure the paint on the wall is washable!

Wipe down the trash can and the wall with a microfiber cloth.

Are you wiping down the trash cans in your break room and kitchen? How about the walls behind them?
